A mitred transition between large-format tile and hardwood in a Greely bungalow, joined with a metal trim set flush to both surfaces.

Project Overview & Execution

Transitions are where flooring work is usually given away. This one runs at an angle rather than a straight line, so every tile along the boundary had to be cut to the mitre and the trim followed through the corner without a break.

Both finishes sit in the same plane, so there is no lip to catch underfoot and no gap for dirt to collect in.

Scope of Work

  • Large-format porcelain tile laid to an angled boundary
  • Mitred tile-to-hardwood transition
  • Metal edge trim set flush between surfaces
  • Levelled so both finishes sit in the same plane
