A large kitchen in Smiths Falls: two-tone cabinetry, a custom-built wood hood surround, a granite island with X-brace joinery, and built-in wine storage.
Project Overview & Execution
White uppers over dark base units, with a vent hood built in wood rather than bought in. The contrast is carried through to the brass hardware and tapware, and picked up again in the lantern pendants.
The island is topped in granite and detailed with an X-brace on the end panel. It is joinery that has to be cut accurately, because it is the first thing you see on the way into the room.
A bar run sits alongside the main kitchen with a wine lattice built into the cabinetry and open shelves carried on brass brackets over a stone counter. Storage that is part of the joinery rather than an add-on.
